Frontiers in Energy 2014, Volume 8, Issue 3,   Pages 345-354 doi: 10.1007/s11708-014-0330-x

Abstract: control of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) with the rotor connected to the electric grid through a back-to-backpulse width modulation (PWM) converter for variable speed wind power generation.A proportional-integral-(PI) controller is used to keep the DC-link voltage constant for a back-to-backPWM converter.

Hicham SERHOUD, Djilani BENATTOUS

Frontiers in Energy 2013, Volume 7, Issue 3,   Pages 380-387 doi: 10.1007/s11708-013-0252-z

Abstract: In this paper, based on the analysis of the mathematical model in a common synchronous reference frame of the brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG), the grid connection strategy and maximum energy extraction control were both analyzed. Besides, the transient simulation of no-load model and generation model of the BDFG have been developed on the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The test results during cutting-in grid confirmed the good dynamic performance of grid synchronization and effective power control approach for the BDFG-based variable speed wind turbines.

Xin Xiang,Zhang Qingfan,Hu Shunquan,Li Ruilai

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 10,   Pages 91-96

Abstract:  Its corresponding PWM control is studied extensively. The paper presents a novel carrier-based PWM method to take advantage of all levels in the invertereven at low modulation indices. The simulation results indicate that the novel PWM strategy increases device utilization and enablesthe inverter to switch at higher frequencies and low modulation indices.
